Watermarks

“Watermarks, 2017is a film is about the hidden crime of violence against women in its many forms. It is a film about the numbers, counting the number of women who are affected by gender violence. The idea of ‘What are we going to do with the numbers’ continues to haunt me and I wanted to piece to make it harder to ignore the effect of a countdown through the dripping tap.

The scene is set in a kitchen, with a tap dripping into a sink and of the sink slowly filling, using a time-lapse effect. In the background a radio plays music, which is interrupted by news bulletins about crimes of violence against women.
